Typically, a medium-sized room (250-300 sq ft) takes 1-2 days for installation and an additional 2-3 days if on-site finishing is required. Larger projects or homes may take 1-2 weeks to complete.
Solid hardwood flooring is made from a single piece of wood throughout, while engineered wood flooring consists of a hardwood veneer layer bonded to multiple layers of plywood or high-density fiberboard. Engineered wood is more resistant to moisture and temperature changes, making it suitable for basements and over concrete slabs. Solid hardwood can be refinished more times but is more susceptible to expansion and contraction with humidity changes.
Hardwood floors typically need refinishing every 7-10 years, depending on foot traffic, maintenance, and the thickness of the wood.
